This here watch, it’s called a Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Reverso Tribute Chronograph. Sounds fancy, don’t it? Well, it is kinda fancy. My grandson, he’s always on that internet, he told me it’s a big deal. Says it’s an “original order,” whatever that means. He showed me pictures and, well, it does look pretty.
This watch, it ain’t like them shiny ones you see them young folks wearing. This one, it’s for folks who been around the block a few times. You know, seen a thing or two. My old man, he used to have a watch, not like this one, but it had that… that flip thing. This one does that, too. You can flip it around, and there’s another watch face on the other side. Like magic, I tell ya!
Two Sides to Every Watch
One side, it’s all simple and clean. Just numbers and lines. Easy to read, even for these old eyes. The other side, hoo boy! It’s got all sorts of things going on. Little circles and hands and numbers. My grandson says it’s called a “chronograph.” He says it’s like a stopwatch, but fancier. I don’t know about all that, but it sure does look complicated. Makes me think of them old clocks with all the gears and cogs.
- This Reverso Tribute Chronograph, it’s like two watches in one.
- One side plain, one side fancy.
- That flip thing is kinda neat.
My grandson, he says this watch is special. Says it’s like them old watches from a long time ago. 1931, he said. That’s way before I was even born! He says they don’t make many of these, either. That makes it worth a lot, I reckon. Makes me nervous even holding it.
The Reverso Tribute: A Real Fancy Watch
He also told me about some other watch, a “Geophysic” or somethin’. Said they only made it for one year, then made a different one. Said the old one is real hard to find now, worth a lot of money. Just like this here Reverso, I guess. Gotta be careful with these things, don’t want to break ’em.
This JLC Reverso Tribute Chronograph, it’s made for people who like nice things. Not flashy, but nice. You know, like a good pair of boots or a well-worn saddle. They last a long time and they tell a story. This watch, it tells a story, too. Don’t ask me what story, I just know it does.
Now, I seen a lot of things in my time. Seen the sun rise and set more times than I can count. Seen good times and bad times. This watch, it kinda reminds me of that. It’s got two sides, just like life. One side is simple and straightforward. The other side, well, it’s a little more complicated. But both sides are important.
My grandson said this Reverso Tribute Chronograph is good with jeans and sneakers. I don’t wear no sneakers, but I wear jeans. My old work jeans. Maybe this watch ain’t so fancy after all. Maybe it’s just a good, solid watch for a good, solid person.
Wearing a Jaeger-LeCoultre
He says this watch is for “mature” people. Well, I reckon I’m mature. Got more wrinkles than a prune. Maybe I’m mature enough for this watch. It ain’t about being old, though. It’s about, I don’t know, having lived a little. Knowing what’s important.
This JLC Reverso Tribute, it’s a keeper. Maybe I’ll wear it to church on Sunday. Or maybe I’ll just wear it around the house. Either way, it feels good on my wrist. Feels like, I don’t know, like it belongs there.
- Mature folks like this watch, I guess.
- It’s a good watch, even with jeans.
- It feels right, like it should be there.
I still don’t know what “original order” means. But I know this watch is special. My grandson, he knows about these things. He wouldn’t steer me wrong. He says this Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Reverso Tribute Chronograph is the real deal. And I believe him. It’s the real deal, alright.
