This here watch, it’s called Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar. Sounds fancy, huh? Well, it kinda is. My grandson, he’s always on that computer thing, he told me it’s a big deal in the watch world. Says it’s like the Cadillac of watches.
What’s a Jaeger-LeCoultre?
Now, I ain’t never heard of no Jaeger-LeCoultre before. But seems like these folks know what they’re doing. They been making these things for a long time. Like, a really long time. Longer than I been alive, that’s for sure. They say this JLC, that’s what the young folks call it, is up there with the best of ’em. Like, better than some of them fancy watches you see them rich folks wearing on TV.
Real or Fake?
My grandson also told me about these other watches. They look just like this JLC Master Ultra Thin, but they ain’t real. They come from China, he says. And they’re way cheaper. Now, I like a good bargain, but somethin’ about that just don’t sit right with me. If you gonna get somethin’, you want the real deal, right? Like, you wouldn’t buy a fake cow, would ya?
He was going on and on about APSF and ZF V2 and ZF V3. I don’t know what any of that means! Sounds like those spaceships from the movies! But he was saying something about how they compare these fake ones to the real JLC Master Ultra Thin. He kept saying “Moon” this and “Moon” that, too. Now I know a thing or two about the moon. I’ve seen it every night, but I don’t know what it’s got to do with a watch!

He was talkin’ about other fancy names too. Calatrava, Vacheron Constantin. Lordy, these names are somethin’ else. But he said this Jaeger-LeCoultre Ultra Thin Moon is the one he’d pick. That Moon thing again! Maybe it’s got a picture of the moon on it or somethin’.
Thin as a Pancake
They say this watch is thin. Real thin. Like a piece of paper almost. They call it Ultra Thin. I guess that’s why. Now, I like my pancakes thin, but a thin watch? That’s somethin’ new. But I reckon it’s nice. Don’t want somethin’ big and clunky on your wrist, weighing you down. Especially when you get older, you want things light, you know?
My grandson, he showed me some pictures. This Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin, it’s real pretty. Simple, but pretty. Not all flashy like some of them other ones. And he said it’s small, too. Smaller than most watches. But that’s okay. Don’t need a big ol’ clock on your wrist.

This is the inside of the watch, he told me. He says it’s real good. Thin, like the rest of the watch. Makes it tick real fast. 21,600 beats per hour! That’s faster than a chicken’s heartbeat. And you wind it up yourself. No batteries in this one! That’s somethin’, ain’t it?
I don’t know much about the official flagship store or where you’re supposed to get it, but i’ve heard that they’re hard to come by. My grandson says they are always sold out, and you have to wait a long time to get one. Well, i guess that’s the price you pay for quality. If you want the best, you gotta be patient.
I guess if you got the money, and you want a real nice watch, this Jaeger-LeCoultre JLC Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar is a good one. It’s the real deal, not some cheap knock-off. And it’s thin, so it won’t weigh you down. And it’s got that Moon thing, whatever that is.
Me? I’m happy with my old Timex. It tells the time just fine. But this JLC Master Ultra Thin, it’s somethin’ else. It’s like a little piece of art you can wear on your wrist. And I guess that’s why folks like it so much. Or maybe it’s just a status thing. I don’t know. I’m just a simple country woman, what do I know about fancy watches?
