I’ve been eyeing this Patek Philippe Gondolo 4962/200R-001 watch for a while now. I mean, it’s got that Art Deco style that just screams classic, you know? So, I finally decided to go for it and remake this beauty. And let me tell you, it was a journey.

First off, I started by getting a good look at the watch. I checked out the official Patek Philippe site, looked at all the pics, and read up on the details. This watch is called the Gondolo Serata, and it’s a real looker. It’s got this curvy case, a bunch of diamonds, and a mother-of-pearl dial. Fancy stuff!

I began by gathering all the materials I needed. I found some rose gold-colored metal for the case, a nice piece of mother-of-pearl for the dial, and a whole lot of tiny, sparkly crystals to stand in for the diamonds. It took a while to find everything, but it was worth it.

Crafting the Watch

  • First, I worked on the case. I carefully shaped the metal to match the curves of the original Gondolo. It was tough to get it just right, but I kept at it.
  • Next, I moved on to the dial. I carefully cut and polished the mother-of-pearl until it fit perfectly in the case. It was so pretty, all shiny and iridescent.
  • Then came the hardest part – the diamonds. I spent hours carefully setting each tiny crystal into the case and dial. My fingers were sore, but I kept going. I wanted it to look perfect.

After a lot of work, I finally finished! I stepped back and looked at my creation. It wasn’t an exact replica, of course, but it had the same vibe as the original. The curves of the case, the shimmer of the dial, the sparkle of the crystals – it all came together.

The dimensions of the original are 28.6 x 40.85 mm, with a height of 7.36 mm. And it’s water-resistant to 30 meters, which is pretty cool. I tried to get close to those measurements, but mine is a bit different. It’s all about getting the feel of the watch, right?

Wearing it feels great. It’s like having a little piece of art on my wrist. And I love that I made it myself. It’s not just a watch; it’s a reminder of what I can do when I put my mind to it. It’s not perfect, but it’s mine, and that’s what counts.

This whole experience taught me a lot. It wasn’t easy, but I stuck with it. Remaking this Patek Philippe watch was a real challenge, but I’m so glad I did it. Now, every time I look at my wrist, I smile. Because I didn’t just make a watch, I made something special. I hope this helps.
