Remake Patek Philippe PP Gondolo 7041R-001 Specialty Stores: Where to Buy the Best Version

Okay, so I’ve been wanting to do something special for a while now, and I finally decided to remake a Patek Philippe Gondolo 7041R-001, the one that’s specifically sold in specialty stores. It’s a really beautiful watch, and I thought, why not try to recreate it?

First, I started by looking everywhere for information about this watch. This Gondolo 7041R-001 model is pretty cool with its cushion-shaped case, and it’s made of 18k rose gold. Plus, it’s got 108 diamonds around the dial. I dug around and found that it usually sells for around $37,470, but you can sometimes find it for around $24,000 to $29,774. Seems like a wide range, right? I also learned that it has a small seconds sub-dial at the 6 o’clock position, and it uses the Patek Philippe Caliber 215 PS, which beats at 28,800 vph. It’s a manual wind, which is kind of old school but really neat.

After I got all the details, I started to gather the materials I needed. Obviously, I couldn’t use real diamonds or 18k rose gold, but I found some pretty good substitutes that look almost the same. I tried my best to make sure everything looked authentic, from the shape of the case to the placement of the diamonds. The most tough thing is the movement part, you know, I am not a professional watchmaker, just imitated the basic structure. For the movement part, the 215 PS, I found similar watch movements online and some other materials, which I can’t remember the names clearly. Anyway, I managed to get all these.

Then came the hard part – putting it all together. I carefully followed the design of the original watch, making sure every little detail was as close as possible. It took a lot of time and patience, but I was determined to make it look right. The small seconds hand, the jewels, everything. I even tried to replicate the 18 jewels, though mine aren’t real, of course.

After many days of work, I finally finished it. It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty proud of how it turned out. It really does look like the real Patek Philippe Gondolo 7041R-001, at least to me!

Key Steps I Took:

  • Researched the heck out of the Patek Philippe Gondolo 7041R-001.
  • Gathered materials that looked like the real deal.
  • Assembled the watch, paying super close attention to the original design.
  • Admired my handiwork (and maybe showed it off a little).

It was a fun and challenging project, and I learned a lot about watches in the process. Maybe I’ll try another remake in the future! But for now, I’m just going to enjoy this one.
