Today, I set out to give my Rolex Daytona a bit of a makeover. I have always loved the look of the ceramic bezel on the Daytona, so I decided to go for it. I picked up a high-quality ceramic bezel and a stainless steel case from a guy I know. It is the one that uses 904L steel.

Get Started

First, I gathered all the necessary tools. I had a case press, a case back opener, some screwdrivers, and a set of tweezers. I also made sure I had a clean workspace. It’s always a good idea to work on a soft cloth so you don’t scratch anything up.

Take it Apart

Next, I carefully removed the original bezel and the case back. I used the case back opener to twist off the back, and then I used the screwdrivers to take off the old bezel. It was a bit tricky because I didn’t want to damage any of the parts. Slow and steady wins the race, right?

Swap the Bezel

Once the old bezel was off, I grabbed the new ceramic bezel. This thing is supposed to be super durable – scratchproof and corrosion-resistant. I carefully aligned it and used the case press to snap it into place. It fit perfectly, and man, did it look good. The high-tech ceramic really gives it a sleek, modern look.

Put it Back Together

With the new bezel in place, I moved on to the stainless steel case. The 904L steel is known for being tough and looking great, so I was excited about this part. I carefully placed the movement back into the new case and screwed the case back on. Then I checked the chronograph function – everything was ticking perfectly.

Final Touches

I gave the watch a good polish. And I also tried to change the dial to an ice blue one. I admired my handiwork. The combination of the ceramic bezel and the stainless steel case made the Daytona look even more impressive. The watch has become more and more popular with collectors and enthusiasts. I can see why, though. It’s a real beauty, and now mine is even more unique.

I’m really happy with how this project turned out. It was a fun little DIY, and my Daytona looks better than ever. If you’re thinking about customizing your watch, I say go for it. Just make sure you have the right tools and take your time. It’s worth it in the end!
