Okay, so I’ve been wanting to get my hands on one of those fancy PRADA Cahier bags for a while now. I mean, they’re everywhere, right? But the price tag? Ouch! So, I thought, why not try to remake one myself? Here’s how it went down.
First, I started by looking everywhere for info about these bags. I mean, really everywhere, from the PRADA official flagship store online to random fashion blogs. I learned that these bags are known for being super sturdy and not easily scratched, thanks to something called Saffiano leather, I guess that is a material type. They’ve been around since like, 2007, which is pretty cool.
Next, I tried to find places that sell these bags, you know, just to get a better look. I saw some second-hand ones online, but they were still pretty pricey. And then I found out that PRADA also sells watches and perfumes. That is not related, but who knew, right?
Then, the fun part began. I decided to use a similar type of leather to the real deal. I found some online that looked pretty close. Cutting and sewing it was a whole other story. I made many mistakes along the way.
After many times I tried, I finally managed to put together something that kinda looked like the PRADA Cahier bag. It wasn’t perfect, but I was pretty proud of it. I even added my own little touches here and there.
In the end, I realized that remaking a designer bag isn’t as easy as it looks. But it was a fun project, and I learned a lot along the way. Plus, now I have a bag that’s unique and didn’t cost me a fortune!

My Thoughts
Would I do it again? Maybe. It was definitely a challenge, but seeing the final product made it all worth it. If you’re thinking about trying something like this, go for it! Just be prepared to put in some work.
