Okay, so I saw this PRADA Symbole Tote Bag online, and I thought, “Hey, I can probably make that!” I mean, it looked simple enough, right? So I went on a mission to find some materials.
First, I started to search for some fabric that looked like the one in the picture. I looked everywhere, man! Finally, I found a few wholesale places online. Gosh, there were tons of options, but I found one that seemed like a good match. It took me hours to decide!
Gathering Materials
- Fabric: Checked out a bunch of wholesale brands and finally picked one that looked pretty close to the original.
- Other Stuff: I also needed some thread, a zipper, and some lining material. Found all that stuff after a bit of searching.
The Process
I got all my materials together and started cutting the fabric. I didn’t have a pattern, so I just kind of winged it based on the pictures I saw online. I cut out the front and back pieces, the sides, and the bottom. Then, I started sewing.
Let me tell you, sewing a bag is not as easy as it looks! I messed up a few times and had to use the seam ripper more than I’d like to admit. But I kept at it. I sewed the sides to the front and back, then attached the bottom. It was starting to look like a bag!
Next, I worked on the handles. I cut out four long strips of fabric and sewed two together for each handle. Then I attached them to the bag. This part was tricky, but I managed to get them on there straight.
The zipper was another challenge. I pinned it in place and carefully sewed it on. I had to go slow to make sure it was even on both sides. After a few tries, I finally got it right.
Finishing Touches
I added the lining, which was pretty straightforward. I just sewed it together and slipped it inside the bag. Then I sewed it to the top edge. And that was it! I had made my own version of the PRADA Symbole Tote Bag.
It’s not perfect, but I’m pretty proud of it. It was a fun project, and I learned a lot. Maybe I’ll try making another bag sometime, but for now, I’m happy with my homemade tote. It was also an adventure to empower myself to chase a dream, wasn’t it?
It was a good opportunity to get to know so many brands that I found online. I didn’t know there were so many unique choices! I explored as many as I could, but I finally chose only what I needed to get this job done. Maybe I can explore more of them another time.
Now I can use it, and every time that I grab it, I can remember all the process that I made to get my own version of this PRADA bag. It was a good experience.
